David J. Tycz is a graduate of Providence College, where he received a B.S. in Accounting, magna cum laude, was a member of the Tau Pi Phi Honorary Society, and was awarded the Hospital Trust National Bank Award for Business Accounting. As part of his undergraduate work, David also attended two trimesters at the University of Glasgow in Scotland where he studied Art and Architectural History and Theology. Before entering law school, David was a volunteer for a nonprofit organization in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He learned to speak Haitian Creole there and his experiences in that extraordinary culture significantly influenced him. In 2006, David became a Partner at Howard and McMillan. Before then, he was an Associate Attorney and a Law Clerk for the firm. His practice includes the major disciplines of the firm: real estate; land use and zoning; business, corporate and commercial law; estate planning, administration and probate; and civil litigation, including appeals up to the Supreme Court of Connecticut. David has strong ties to the community. He is originally from Middletown and is a Xavier High School alumnus. He is currently the Treasurer of the Middlesex County Bar Association and is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and its Real Property and Litigation Sections. He has served on the Executive Committee of the Middlesex County Young Professionals' Alliance since its inception and is in his fourth year as its Co-Chair. David is also the Chairman of the Board of Endowment for the Third Congregational Church in Middletown. David, his wife and their two daughters live in Cromwell where he enjoys carpentry and restoring their Dutch-colonial home.
